Week 4 Leading to our Final week LOVE !!💕 Love This is often difficult to verbalize and explain, love is often described as a feeling, a memory, a sensation and it can sometimes feel like an altered state of consciousness, love is so much. In this weeks class we will combine what the last 3 weeks have been connecting us to, that if we treat ourselves and others with Kindness, Contentment and Respect we will feel the gift of LOVE.
These are all different ways to express and show love, if we are finding it difficult to put into words then we have the help of poets, authors and songwriters who can help us with expressing these feelings, so put on your favourite love song and listen to it, but direct those words of love towards yourself, if this is a difficult task for you try it by looking through the eyes of someone who really loves and respects you it could be a partner, a pet, a child or a friend and then listen with your loved ones it will give you the opportunity of a totally different experience, I recommend Unchained Melody by The Fleetwoods, it's a beautiful experience, let me know which is yours.
This last week of February will be a combination of the last 3 weeks practices, a gentle warm up and mobilisation with some gentle flowing movement with the aim of bringing about the ultimate connection to the attitude of Love this week we will benefit from the added luxury and experiences and some restorative poses before indulging in a longer meditation on our inner heart flame before resting into relaxation.

Week 3 Respect Self respect leads to an improved self confidence owning your own space and feeling good about who you are is very important, when we feel strong and confident in ourselves it has a positive impact on the choices we make and we make a positive difference to the people we meet, we feel energized and amazing and spread the feeling to all we meet and maybe begin a wave of positiveness.
We will continue to build on the previous weeks practice building on feeling strong and powerful being led by pure respect for your self and maintaining kindness and contentment throughout.

Week 2 Contentment Described as a state of happiness and satisfaction (Patanjali Sutra Book 2 Verse 42 ''By contentment, supreme joy is felt''), now who doesn't want to feel this?
The focus in week 2 is inner contentment, this is to be happy with what you have and realise that you already have everything you need to make you happy, in practising this gratitude which leads to contentment and realising contentment leads you to gratitude,it goes hand in hand.
This week we will be building on the gentle heart openers from week 1 continuing to start each week with a heart block pose to experience expansion across the chest and with that releasing what no longer serves us allowing space for new positive experiences, introducing the gate pose to allow open space through the sides of the body and legs followed by empowering warrior sequences and the goddess pose, finishing with practicing Bhramari breath to incorporate some soothing gentle sound followed by repeating inwardly the mantra Aham prema (I am Love).
February is all about the love 💕 We are focusing on the fundamental basis of kindness, to ourselves and all who we meet, kindness is the foundation where all our love can build. A simple smile and a thank you is all it takes, even on our darkest days, this is a beacon of light to guide the way.
So how can you show kindness? Start by being kind with your thoughts, including your self and see how this helps your love grow.

So this months theme is LOVE Week 1 Focusing on Kindness Kindness is described as behaviour marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, concern and consideration for others and this connects really well to the first Yama ( one of the 8 limbs of yoga) Ahimsa which is sanskrit for Non- Harming behaviour including your action, word, thought and deed.
This is first and foremost to start with yourself. treating yourself and others with kindness is a high mark of love and respect. Being kind and feeling and receiving kindness increases our levels of happiness and health by giving the immune system a boost which is believed to help to reduce stress levels and the ageing process, therefore improving all our relationships.
Remember - Kindness is not a weakness, it takes strength to be a kind individual.
